The Must-Try Dishes of Meghalaya

When a traveler tells the tales about his./her travels in Meghalaya, more often than not he/she ignores the exceptional dishes they taste on their journey. Jadoh

Doh-Khileh

Pumaloi

Being the staple food of Meghalaya, you can find rice as the base of different types of dishes. Just like Jadoh, Pumaloi is another type of rice-based dish which is famous in Meghalaya. Pumaloi means powdered rice. The people of Meghalaya steam this powdered rice to cook it. The right amount of heat and water is the secret of cooking perfect Pumaloi.
